Welcome to ScrapDeal ("ScrapDeal," "we," "us," or "our"). ScrapDeal is a technology platform that connects customers who want to sell scrap materials (such as e-waste, old clothes, plastic, paper, scrap vehicles, and other recyclable/reusable items) with verified scrap collection partners who provide convenient doorstep pickup services. Our mission is to make responsible, hassle-free scrap disposal and recycling accessible to every household and business.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the ScrapDeal mobile application (the "App"), available on the Google Play Store, and our related website at www.scrapdeal.co.in (collectively, the "Service").

By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with the terms of this policy, please do not use the App.

This policy is designed to comply with the Google Play Developer Program Policies, including the User Data policy, the Families Policy (not applicable, as this App is not directed at children), and applicable data protection laws including India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDPA).

2. ScrapDeal's Business Model

ScrapDeal operates an on-demand scrap collection and recycling marketplace. Here is how it works:

1. Browse & Request: Customers use the App to select the type of scrap they wish to sell (e.g., e-waste, old clothes, plastic, paper, scrap vehicles, industrial scrap) and schedule a convenient pickup time.

2. Doorstep Collection: ScrapDeal dispatches a verified collection partner ("Partner") to the customer's specified address to collect the scrap materials directly from their doorstep — customers do not need to travel anywhere or handle logistics themselves.

3. Weighing & Payment: The Partner weighs and assesses the scrap on-site, and the customer is paid based on prevailing market rates & Immediate UPI Payment get transferred to the customer.

4. Responsible Recycling: Collected materials are channeled to authorized recycling and processing facilities, helping reduce landfill waste and supporting a circular economy.

5. Additional Services: ScrapDeal also facilitates society-level scrap collection campaigns, vehicle scrapping, paper shredding services, and industrial scrap disposal for bulk and institutional clients.

To provide this doorstep service reliably, ScrapDeal must collect certain personal information from customers, as described below.

3. Information We Collect

3.1 Information You Provide Directly

Name	To identify you and address you during pickup coordination.
Mobile Number	To contact you, confirm pickup requests, send OTPs for login/verification, and enable our collection Partner to reach you on the day of pickup.
Email Address	To send booking confirmations, receipts, invoices, and important service communications.
Pickup Address / Location	To enable doorstep collection, our Partners need your precise address and/or GPS location so they can navigate to you and complete the pickup.
Scrap Category & Estimated Quantity	To assign an appropriately equipped Partner and estimate pricing.
Payment Information	If you choose digital payment, transaction details are processed to complete payouts for your scrap (see Section 3.3).
Photographs	If you choose to upload photos of scrap items to help Partners assess the job in advance.

3.2 Information Collected Automatically

Device Information: device model, operating system version, unique device identifiers, and app version, used for troubleshooting and improving compatibility.
Location Data: with your permission, we may access your device's GPS location to auto-fill your pickup address and enable live tracking of your assigned Partner. You may disable location permissions at any time through your device settings, though this may limit certain features.
Usage Data: how you interact with the App (screens visited, features used, crash logs) to help us fix bugs and improve the Service.
Log Data: IP address, access times, and app diagnostics for security and performance monitoring.

3.3 Information from Third Parties

If you complete a digital payment through the App, our payment gateway partner processes your payment details directly. ScrapDeal does not store your full card, UPI, or bank credentials on our own servers.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

Create and manage your ScrapDeal account.
Connect you with a nearby, verified collection Partner for doorstep pickup.
Communicate pickup confirmations, Partner arrival updates, and order status via SMS, call, email, or push notification.
Process payments/payouts for scrap sold.
Provide customer support and resolve complaints or disputes.
Send service-related updates, and — where you have consented — promotional offers or campaign information (e.g., society drives, festival collection reminders).
Improve, troubleshoot, and secure the App.
Comply with legal obligations, including tax, environmental, and regulatory recordkeeping requirements applicable to scrap/recycling businesses.
Prevent fraud, abuse, and misuse of the platform.

5. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in the following circumstances:

With Collection Partners: Your name, mobile number, and pickup address/location are shared with the Partner assigned to your pickup request, solely so they can complete the doorstep collection and contact you if needed.
With Payment Processors: For digital payment, necessary transaction details are shared with our licensed payment gateway partner(s) to complete the transaction.
With Service Providers: We may engage third-party vendors for SMS/OTP delivery, cloud hosting, analytics, and customer support tools, who process data only on our instructions and under confidentiality obligations.
For Legal Reasons: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of ScrapDeal, our users, or the public.
Business Transfers: If ScrapDeal is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, customer information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Privacy Policy.

We do not share your data with third parties for their own independent marketing purposes without your explicit consent.

6. Data Storage and Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. This includes encrypted data transmission, access controls, and regular security reviews. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may request deletion of your account and associated data as described in Section 8.

7. Permissions Used by the App

In line with Google Play's permissions policy, ScrapDeal only requests permissions necessary for core App functionality:

Location — to auto-detect and set your pickup address, and to enable live Partner tracking.
Camera / Storage — to allow you to optionally upload photos of scrap items.
Contacts (optional) — only if you choose to use a "refer a friend" or address book-based address entry feature, and only with your explicit permission.
Notifications — to send pickup and order status alerts.
Phone (Call) — to enable a one-tap "Call Partner/Support" feature.

You may grant or revoke any of these permissions at any time via your device settings. Denying certain permissions may limit specific App features but will not prevent you from using the core Service.

8. Your Rights and Choices

You have the right to:

Access & Correct: View and update your profile information (name, phone, email, address) directly within the App.
Delete Your Account: Request deletion of your account and personal data by contacting us at the details in Section 12. We will process such requests in accordance with applicable law, subject to any information we are legally required to retain.
Data Portability: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, where applicable under law.

9. Children's Privacy

ScrapDeal is intended for use by individuals who are 18 years of age or older, or the age of legal majority in their jurisdiction, as our Service involves scheduling pickups and financial transactions. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that a child has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete such information promptly.

10. Third-Party Links and Services

The App may contain links to third-party websites or services (e.g., payment gateways). This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third parties, and we encourage you to review their respective privacy policies.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy within the App and updating the "Last Updated" date above.

Continued use of the App after such changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
